Here's another poem I wrote for my classmates. This one is about my good friend and dorm roommate Athena. Her pagka-taray yet feminine demeanor often gets strange looks or even fear, but she's more than that, as I have confirmed. Athena, sana huwag ka magalit sa 'kin kung nabasa mo 'to... ^^
Athena
She sits there by the windowLooking like the goddess of wisdom in all her graceThen you go, and tap her on the shoulder"Athena?"And she proceeds to show you the god of war's fiery rage.
Athena.
Long raven hair tumbling like rivers on her shouldersDark smouldering eyes that dare you to move to her sideAnd soft hands that could draw out the beauty of a drawingYet just as easily threaten a life when you stoke her fiery side.
With a laughter that was both charming and hauntingShe exudes confidence and poise in all her waysWhether in the dormitory, the cafeteria, or the classroomIn life's playground she happily plays.
She is living proof of "Don't judge a book by its cover."Secrets hide beneath her sweet smileShe finds her pleasures in simple thingsAnd her gentle demeanor hides under a fiery profile. She is loyal and lovingCharitable, generous and kindShe finds the beauty in every thingAnd she's got a pretty clever mind.Yet despite the raised eyebrows and strange looksThe fear of her confidence and witWhether of her boyishness or her femininityOr the fire in her eyes when her anger is lit
Athena. She could be sweet or fiery, sad or happyUnder the burden of life with all its joys and stressShe could be the goddess of love or the goddess of war But still, a goddess nonetheless.
