Here's a poem I wrote during... uh, English class, and (cuz I didn't finish it) Social Science class (kasi boring ung lesson, wala akong magawa)... so there, some crappy poem that I came up with. Basta. I'm thinking of submitting it to Pisay's Dalumat so I can fill in the carp quota... ^^SECRET
She stands in the shadowsDeep eyes shying away from the light
No shaft of moonlight shall stroke her shadowed face
No ray of sunbeam shall kiss her midnight hair
No twinkle of starshine shall shimmer her lips fair
Her rainment is of inky black
The perfect color of the night
Reflecting nothing but the absence of light
She stands in the shadows
Deep eyes shying away from the light
Her eyes are filled with wisdom
Yet are laced with silent fears
Oh, shadowed lady, why in your eyes are there tears?
The light begins to creep towards her form
Its brilliance fighting the darkness of her hiding-place
No! She cannot be seen! She swiftly hides her face
She stands in the shadows
Deep eyes shying away from the light
But alas! The light begins to prevail
And word and action from others flow
These eat away at her shadows, sure and painfully slow
And suddenly, the force is too much
She is thrust into the brightness of light
She winces and recoils painfully at the sight
She stands in the shadows
Deep eyes shying away from the light
Though strong she was in times before
Too much for her is light's harsh glare
She is forced to reveal what hides behind her lips so fair
The hidden knowledge is unveiled at last
Known to all the world and more
Telling more people than it was really meant for
She stands in the shadows
Deep eyes shying away from the light
Poor shadowed lady, she is shamed!
In her eyes, the tears are finally spilled
Of death and despair, her soul is filled
Frantically she searches for the shadows
She finds it and hides once more in its welcoming cool
And from there she watches, with her eyes like deep pools
She stands in the shadows
Deep eyes shying away from the light
And there she will stand again
Seeking the dark and staying within
For to reveal her knowledge will indeed be her sin
Until the light, the forces return again
Shadows must surround her silent frame
She cannot show herself, for Secret is her name.
